The regime forces raid the houses and arrested six residents in wards C and D in Tanintharyi region’s Launglon Township on the night of December 22, the locals told Than Lwin Times.

The 30 members of the military council, comprised of soldiers, police, and Pyu Saw Htee militia, arrested six residents around 8 pm.

Among the arrested were U Pe Than, Ko Aung Aung, Ma Mee Htwe, Daw Aye Than, Daw Kyin Than and Daw Yin New.

They were arrested because of the tip-off from the military informants, the sources said.

The military council accused those arrested of being associated with the PDFs and of providing them with financial support.

They are currently being investigated while being held in custody at the Launglon police station.

Residents claim that regime troops opened fire and yelled at the detainees while arresting them.

The military council arrested residents of Long Lon town for a variety of reasons, and while some were released after extorting money, many were arrested and imprisoned on various charges.
