The junta camp near Kyotadar village in northern Ye Township was attacked around 6 am on December 24, Lieutenant Yang Naing of Ye-PDF (North) told Than Lwin Times.
The Ye PDF (North) and Ye Guerrilla Force (YGF) attacked the regime’s outpost At close range, which had around 15 troops.
There were fatalities on the junta side, but the exact number is being investigated.
According to Lieutenant Yan Naing, the 588th Infantry Battalion of the Military Council, stationed in Ye Township, joined the fight with the aid of artillery fire, forcing the PDF joint force to retreat.
One woman was killed when a mortar round fired by Infantry Battalion 588 exploded inside a monastery close to the town of Kyotadar.
According to locals, the body of the deceased woman hit by a mortar shell was cremated on December 22 at Lamaing Cemetery.
In a statement on December 23, the Taung Nyo People’s Guerrilla Force claimed that they had attacked junta convoys four times in a single day on the Ye-Thanzayat road, resulting in significant casualties.
