A military convoy struck the landmines between Seikphu and Aung Chan Thar villages in Tanintharyi Region’s Kawthaung Township around 6 am on February 1, reportedly killing eight junta soldiers and injuring six others.
The People’s Defense Forces in Kawthaung attacked a military convoy that came to investigate the death of U San Tin, the deputy leader of the Pyu Saw Htee militia, who was shot by gunmen.
According to Moandaing, the official frow Kawthatun PDF, one of the two military vehicles carrying 60 soldiers was hit right in the middle and damaged.
After the attack, the dead and injured soldiers were transported to Maryang Hospital and Khamaukgyi military hospital respectively.
Two guns, one large-capacity magazine, 28 bullets, and three daggers were confiscated from U San Tin, deputy leader of the Pyu Saw Htee militia.
On October 30, the Kawthaung PDF assassinated junta-appointed administrator U Myo Aung, aka Naung Me, on the way to Shan Koe village.
