A local woman was killed in a clash that broke out near Tanshin and Kadae villages in Tanintharyi Region’s Palaw Towship, an information officer of Myeik Battalion 1 told Than Lwin Times.

There was a gunfight between regime forces and People’s Defense Forces near Tanshin and Kadae villages around 1 pm on February 3.
At least eight mortar rounds were fired into Tanshin village by the junta forces during the conflict.
Daw Than Than Mon, a local, was killed when a shell fired by the Military Council struck her home and exploded.
The nearly two-hour-long clash did not result in any injuries to the PDF comrades, and the information officer of Myeik District Battalion 1 stated that they are still investigating the deaths of regime forces.
The Military Council fired mortar shells at To village in Palaw Township on December 21, killing two locals and injuring four more.
Fierce fighting took place in Palaw township between December and January, in which 20 homes were destroyed in junta’s artillery strikes and arson attacks, further forcing 4,000 residents to abandon their homes.
