Kyainseikgyi, March (4)
The Karen National Union/ Karen National Liberation Army (KNU/KNLA) and the People’s Defense Force (PDF) jointly opened a clinic named Mee Eain Shin in Karen State’s Kyainseikgyi Township, according to a statement issued on March 3rd Division of Southern Military Region under the Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government (NUG).
In addition, in January 2023, more than 16,000 local residents from 22 villages in Kyainseikgyi Township were forced to flee their homes due to heavy weapon fire and airstrikes by the junta army.
The Mee Eain Shin Clinic was jointly opened by the People’s Administration of Kyainseikgyi Township with the PDF and its ally, the KNU/KNLA, and the clinic provides health care and health awareness for local people and PDF comrades, the statement said.
Moreover, the Township People’s Administration provided the necessary assistance and health care to the local people fleeing the conflict.
But Mee Eain Shin Clinic needs internet access and medical assistance, reported the information team of the 3rd Division of Southern Military Region under Ministry of Defense of the NUG.
Kyainseikgyi Township, which was put under martial law, was a territory of KNU Brigade 6, where tension is high between the junta army and KNLA/PDF joint forces, with frequent clashes.
