Launglon, March (11)
Residents of Pa-nyit village have fled their homes as 60-strong junta troops entered their village via Launglon’s Karengyi village, the locals told Than Lwin Times.
At least three local homes were completely destroyed by fire; the fire was still raging as of yesterday.
As regime troops continue to occupy the village, more than 700 civilians are escaping to adjacent villages and jungles.
At least five homes were destroyed when the junta troops set fire to Karengyi village on March 8.
It is reported that thousands of residents of seven villages, including Karengyi, Thabawtseik, Kampani and Kyauksin, are fleeing because the military column that invaded Launglon township rampaged through the villages.
