Tilin, 21 March
A military convoy with 32 vehicles was attacked by local joint resistance forces for three consecutive days as they headed to Tilin township, Magwe region, with some casualties of junta troops, according to Yaw Revolution Army to Than Lwin Times.
The ambushes began on 15 March as the convoy was carrying soldiers and ammunition from Pakokku to Kyaukhtu.
“ It was the first military convoy to Kyaukhtu in 22 months. They could travel only 18 miles in three days. Over 40 soldiers were killed and more than 30 were injured. Their death toll is expected to increase as they were under severe attack,” said Captain Yaw Naing from Yaw Revolution Army.
The local defence forces did not suffer any casualty.
Soldiers burnt the bodies of their comrades on the houses in Shwe Kong Tain village.
The 3-day battle involved Battalion 15,16 and 17 of Gangaw district, Yaw Revolution Army, Battalion 18 of Gangaw district- YRNF and Yaw Defence Force, while the Myanmar Royal Dragon Army fired heavy weapon shells to reinforce the resistance forces.
