Kyaikto, March (29)
The junta’s artillery shell killed two civilians and injured two others as it struck on Mae Yone Lay village in Mon State’s Kyaikto Township, an official from PDF-Thaton District told Than Lwin Times.
The regime force in Mayanchaung village fired 60-mm mortar rounds into Mae Yone Lay village around 9 on March 27.
According to reports, a junta army shell landed on an agricultural farm in Mae Yone Lay village and exploded, killing Maung Lyan Htet Aung, 24, on the spot, and Saw Naung Oo, 24, on the way to the hospital.
In addition, U Maung Win Htay and U Win Myint, who were injured by shrapnel, were taken to the Thaton Public Hospital.
On March 17, junta soldiers stationed near a cemetery in Ingabo village, Kyaikto township, opened fire with heavy weapons, injuring a local man from Zeepyaung village.
Due to the junta troops’ daily artillery fire into Kyaikto Township in Thaton District, residents are suffering injuries or deaths, according to the KNU-Thaton District’s statement.
