After two junta-aligned militia members have been shot dead in Seikphu village in Tanintharyi Region’s Kawthaung, regime troops are making arrests, the locals told Than Lwin Times.
Following the incident, the junta has arrested the local residents on suspicion of being in contact with the People’s Defense Forces.
On April 20, the military council detained Ko San Min Oo from Khamaukkyi Township in Kawthaugn and Ko Lwin Oo from Maryang village.
Then, regime troops came to Seikphu to arrest two residents once again, but failed, according to a resident.
It is reported that the two detainees were taken to a battalion based in Khamaukgyi by the junta and are being interrogated.
On April 16, leader Kyaw Win and deputy leader Myint Aung of the militia group of Seikphu village, were shot dead by the Kawthaung PDF in their home.
In the assassination of two militia leaders, the resistance force seized two AK-47s, one pistol, bullets, uniforms, bulletproof vests, and ammunition boxes.
