After the military council arrested two local residents from Sittaung village and Northern Ward in Mon State’s Kyaikto Township, their homes and properties were sealed off, locals told Than Lwin Times.
On the morning of May 10, regime forces sealed off the home and grocery store of Ko Nay Linn Htike n Sittaung village, and the motorcycle spare parts shop and home of Htet Okkar Lin in the northern ward.
After the military council arrested two local residents and accused them of providing money to People’s Defense Force PDFs, their homes and properties were sealed off on March 20.
It is known that the two detainees have been charged by the junta under Sections 50 (j), 50 (i) and 52 (a) of the Anti-Terrorism Act, which carries a life sentence.
The homes and properties of at least 10 local residents, including NLD MPs and activists, have been sealed off in Kyaikto Township after the military coup.
According to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), nearly 800 homes, buildings, and assets of democracy activists and civilians have been sealed off across the country in more than two years after the military coup.
