Meteorologists have warned the residents of the coastal areas in Rakhine State to evacuate as soon as possible because the severe cyclone Mocha can be unpredictably destructive.
On May 14, the severe cyclone Mocha is expected to make landfall between Cox’s Bazar in southeastern Bangladesh and Kyaukphyu in northern Rakhine State, Myanmar.
Meteorologists predict that the storm’s wind speed will reach 110 miles per hour, with wave heights ranging from 13 to 16 feet.
U Win Naing, a meteorologist, advised residents of the surrounding areas to evacuate by May 13 because the cyclone’s severe impact might not be foreseeable.
Cyclone Mocha’s eye has already formed, and on May 12 in the evening, it will intensify into a powerful cyclone with a category 4 between 3 and 6 hours, according to meteorologist Daw Su Su San.
