The military aircraft bombed Panwe Phoe Kaloe village of Kawkayeik Township under KNU Brigade 6, destroying a Christian church, said the KNU.
On May 23, at 11:30 p.m., the fighter jet from Nay Pyi Taw Air Force dropped two bombs on the village of Khale Lawkye (Panwe Phoe Kaloe) of Mawkhee village tract under the territory of KNLA Battalion 201 of Brigade 6, and a Christian church was damaged by the bombing, the statement said.
Junta Air Force dropped two 500-pound bombs on the compound of the Christian church in Panwe Phoe Kaloe village, damaging a house including the church, said a local source.
On the morning of May 23, after the revolutionary joint forces attacked the Mawkhee military outpost of the military council in Myawaddy Township, the regime forces dropped bombs in the night, said the military lobbyists.
Now, locals are fleeing the bombardment, a spokesperson for the Karen Peace Support Network (KPSN) told Than Lwin Times.
According to local sources, the junta jets repeatedly flew over the area of KNU’s Brigade 6 on May 24.
In April, the junta air force carried out 31 airstrikes in the territory of the 6th Brigade of KNU, which destroyed more than 400 buildings, including two Christian churches, schools, clinics, monasteries, and homes, reported the information team of Dooplayar District.
