A junta-appointed administrator was shot dead in Tagondaing village, Paung Township, Mon State, around 8 p.m. on May 26, locals told Than Lwin Times.
The gunmen arrived on two motorcycles and opened fire at U Soe Mi, Inn Byaung village administrator, who lives in Tagondaing village.
U Soe Mi tried to run away, but was killed by a gunshot wound in the head near the house.
On the morning of May 27, after administrator U Soe Mi was shot dead, regime troops arrived at Tagondaing village and left after conducting interrogations, according to locals.
It is not yet known which organization was responsible for the death of administrator U Soe Mi.
After the military coup, junta-appointed administrators, militia leaders, and informants were often shot dead in Paung Township.
