A civilian was killed by a gunshot wound on May 30 during a battle at Aung Thabyae village in Mon State Township, where martial law had been imposed, locals told Than Lwin Times.
Three clashes broke out on the Mawlamyine-Ye road in one day as Taung Nyo Guerilla Force ambushed the military council’s food convoy heading to Ye from Thanbyuzayat in the morning.
A 50-year-old local man was shot dead as he came down from his house to hide in a trench after hearing gunshots.
According to local residents, after the local resistance force attacked the junta convoy, a bullet fired by the regime forces hit the man and killed him.
The Taung Nyo People’s Guerrilla Force reported on May 31 that three junta troops were killed and seven others were injured in the battle.
A civilian was killed by the regime forces’ indiscriminate firing during the battle between the two groups, according to the statement.
According to the figures collected by Than Lwin Times, at least ten travelers have been killed and almost 30 others injured as a result of shootings on the Ye-Thanbyuzayat road in the more than two years since the military coup.
