The drone strike on the administrative office and police station in Bago Region’s Kyaukkyi Township on the morning of June 9 resulted in the injuries or deaths of departmental officials, locals told Than Lwin Times.
The combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and People’s Defense Forces (PDFs) attacked Kyaukkyi administrative office and police station using drone-carrying bomb around 10 a.m. on that day.
The drone attack destroyed some parts of the administrative office and police station, which led to deaths and casualties.
The attack killed a Township agricultural officer and injured a firefighter, a soldier, and a police family member.
According to local residents, the Kyaukkyi Township administrator’s office was bombed during a township-level meeting.
After the drone attack, regime forces blocked roads inside and outside the city, conducted searches, and reopened the roads in the afternoon.
On June 6, the KNLA alliance raided the Nat Than Gwin police station and junta camp in Kyaukkyi Township, killing nearly 40 soldiers, according to the KNU.
