Salingyi, 10 June
Yinbabin district’s No (1) battalion, people’s defence force (Salingyi-PDF) and Alpha force (Salingyi-PDF) jointly carried out a raid on Nyaungbingyi police station in Salingyi township, Sagaing region, on 9 June evening.
The mission was conducted under the command of No. (1) Command Region of People’s Defence Force, and seven arms and ammunitions were confiscated in the raid, according to the report of Ministry of Defence under National Unity Government.
Although the military reinforced with a Mi-35 helicopter flew from their Northwestern Command in the battle, the mission was successful and burnt down the police station.
The police station had 40 members led by Police Officer Zaw Htay Myint.
Arms and ammunition confiscated in the raid were two MA-13s, four G-3s (BA-63), one short gun, 2,040 bullets of 7.62 gun, 50 bullets of 5.56 gun, 500 bullets of 5.5 gun, 500 bullets of 9MM, 29 grenades of M-79/40 MM, 13 grenades and K11.4 million.
One PDF member and two were injured in the attack.
