A man was lost in a mountain flash flood in Ottada village of Paung township, Mon state, on 18 July afternoon, locals said to Than Lwin Times.
Zaw Latt was collecting firewood in a creek under heavy rain around 1 pm when incident occurred.
“Locals normally collect firewood from mountain water, and he was drowned in the water,” a local said.
His body was not found until 7 pm on that day.
As torrential rains have poured across Mon state since 17 July night, floods occurred in many townships of the state.
