Myawaddy, 5 September
Drone attacks of resistance forces killed five military officials, including a lieutenant colonel, and injured some of military forces in Myawaddy border township, in Kayin state on 3 September night.
Lieutenant-Colonel Aung Kyaw Min from military council, Myawaddy District’s General Administration Department Officer U Soe Tint, District’s GAD staff officer U Tun Tun Nyein, GAD clerk U Pyae Phyo Aung and Traffic Police Officer Nay Lin Soe were killed in the attack.
A local said to Than Lwin Times, “In the first drone attack, a clerk was injured. The second drone attack on the inspections of soldiers and police killed their forces. District’s police officer was seriously injured, and taken to hospital in Mae sot.”
The injured persons were undergoing medical treatments in Myawaddy hospital.
Some wound persons were taken to Mae Sot for treatments, but Than Lwin Times has not confirmed it independently.
