A police surveillance officer was killed on the Yangon-Mawlamyine Road in Moe Nai Ward in Mon State’s Paung Township on 3 September, locals confirmed to Than Lwin Times.
Police officer Ko Ko Lwin was on his way back to the police station in Mo Nai Ward on his motorcycle when unknown gunmen who were waiting in a car opened fire on him.
Surveillance officer Ko Ko Lwin received 11 bullet wounds on his forehead, chest, abdomen, and hands and died on the spot.
Following the policeman’s death, the regime troops and police force blocked the entrance to Paung and conducted searches, said the travelers.
No organization has yet claimed responsibility for the death of policeman Ko Ko Lwin.
Since the military coup, at least six policemen from Paung and Zin Kyaik police stations were killed in Mon State.
