Palaw, 19 September

Four local people were killed after junta troops raided Pyin Phyu Village in Tanintharyi Region’s Palaw Township, locals and officials from Myeik Battalion 1 told Than Lwin Times.

The junta troops, which were storming village after village in Palaw Township, entered Pyin Phyu village on 17 September evening.

The invaded junta army shot and killed four local residents who came out to escape from the village.

Locals confirmed that the deceased were Daw Thandar Nwe, 37; Daw Yi Win, 40; U Ngwe Soe, 40; and U Ba Kyin, 69.

After killing the local people and torching two houses, the regime troops left for Mya Daung village where they clashed with local defense forces on September 18.

More than 2,000 residents of Pitat, Mya Daugn, Lattku, Pyin Phyu and Pae Htauk villages in Pulau Township have fled because of the military column raiding village after village.

On 15 September, regime troops burned down 17 homes in Lattku village where the fighting broke out, said the locals.
