Joint forces of resistance groups have launched a series of attacks on the military council’s battalions in Mon State’s Ye Township, where martial law has been declared.

The revolutionary team attacked the base Infantry Battalion 106 and Light Infantry Battalions 588 and 587 for three consecutive days from September 23 to 25.

The Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), People’s Defense Forces (PDF) and the Mon Armed Resistance Forces used heavy weapons and small drones in three-day attack, killing at least five soldiers.

On September 25, the most recent attack on Infantry Battalion 106 based in Mawkanin resulted in an exchange of fire between the two sides.

According to locals, the military council tightened security at the township’s entrances and exits and stormed neighboring villages after its base battalions were attacked.

On September 12, the KNLA joint force attacked the Light Infantry battalion 583 and 591 based in Ye, killing four soldiers and injuring seven others, according to the statement of the joint forces.

The military council imposed martial law in Ye Township, where revolutionary troops are active, on February 2, and different local orders were issued.
