Kyaikmaraw, 29 September

Two explosions rocked Kanarlo village in Mon State’s Kyaikmaraw Township, when there was no fighting, injuring six civilians, including a child, locals confirmed to Than Lwin Times.

The two shells detonated in the village of Kanarlo, which is home to the majority of Mon people around 10 p.m. on 27 September.

Six civilians, including nine-year-old Maung Min Ko, were injured by shrapnel in the blasts.

The child, who was seriously injured, was transferred from Kyaikmaarw Public Hospital to Mawlamyine Hospital for treatment.

Two houses collapsed in the explosion, while eight other houses and a car were destroyed.

This is the first time the artillery shells have exploded in Kanalo village since the coup, and Than Lwin Times was unable to independently confirm who carried out the attack.
