Kawkayeik, 5 October
The artillery shelling of regime forces into An Hpa Gyi village in Karen State’s Kawkayeik Township destroyed three houses and injured a woman, reported the KNU on 4 October.
The Kawkayeik-based Infantry Battalion 97 fired three rounds of mortar shells into the An Hpa Gyi village around 8 p.m. on the 3rd of October, when there was no fighting.
The explosion destroyed the houses of U Mya Aye, U Thein Tin, and Daw Mae Tin Aye, and Daw Mae Tin Aye’s abdomen was injured by shrapnel.
On 2 October, the artillery shelling of Kyainseikgyi-based Infantry Battlaion 32 destroyed the two houses of local people in No. 1 Ward of Kyainsekgyi Township.
The KNU said that the military council forces in the KUN Brigade 6 area of Kawkayeik and Kyainseikgyi Townships committed war crimes daily by arresting and torturing civilians with no reason, entering and destroying public homes, taking property and violating human rights since the coup.
