Dozens of regime troops were killed in the battle that broke out between two forces in the first half of the month, reported KNU Brigade 5.
From October 1 to 15, 38 clashes between the junta army and KNLA Brigade 5, killing 13 junta soldiers and injuring 29 others, according to the statement.
Meanwhile, a member of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) was wounded, said the KNLA.
The junta intentionally launched 10 rounds of 122-mm and 120-mm mortar shells into Par Hike and Mae Khoo village tracts this month.
Similarly, on October 5, the junta aircraft dropped two cluster bombs into Baw Lay De village in Lu Thaw Township, but no casualties were reported, according to the statement.
The regime forces fired at not military targets but communities where the people live, and no one suffered because of preparation, reported the Karen Human Rights Group (KHRG).
According to the KNU, nearly 100,000 people have been displaced in Hpapun District since the coup, and they are in dire need of accommodation, food, and medical supplies.
