Kyaikto, 28 October
Three civilians were injured when the junta army fired heavy weapons into Hngat Pyaw Taw village of Kyaikto Township in Mon State, reported the KNU-Thaton District on 27 October.
On October 22, the No.2 Infantry Battalion, based in Kyaikto Township, launched two mortar shells into Hngat Pyaw Taw village.
The artillery shell fired by regime forces exploded near the home of U Tun Win from Hngat Pyaw Taw village.
The shrapnel of the explosion hit the hands and heads of U Tun Win and Daw Gadon Ma, both in their forties, as well as 30-year-old Daw Mi Win.
Residents told Than Lwin Times that Daw Gadon Ma was taken to the Kyaikto Township Public Hospital for treatment and has not yet been discharged from the hospital.
The junta shelling came after the joint forces of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the People’s Defense Forces (PDFs) attacked Kinmonchaung police station on 22 October.
On October 19, a woman from Me Yone Lay village was injured by the artillery shell of regime troops stationed in Lat Pan Pin village of Kyaikto Township, according to the KNU-Thaton District.
