The Karen National Union (KNU) welcomes Operation 1027 against the regime targets of the Three Brotherhood Alliance, Padoh Saw Tony, the spokesperson of the KNU told Than Lwin Time.
The Three Brotherhood Alliance, which comprises the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), and the Arakan Army (AA), launched a massive offensive against the junta bases in northern Shan State after announcing Operation 1027 on October 27.
According to the statement of the Three Brotherhood Alliance, nearly 70 regime targets were seized in four days, from October 27 to 30.
The KNU, a veteran ethnic armed organization, welcomed Operation 1027, and it appears that all ethnic groups will fight together in a balanced manner, said Padoh Saw Tony.
At least 10 revolutionary forces, including the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC), the Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP), and the General Strike Coordination Body (GSCB), have expressed their support for Operation 1027.
The Three Brotherhood Alliance said that Operation 1027, which has the support of the people and revolutionary forces, has spread to Hteechaing Township in Sagaing Region in addition to Shan State.
Certain towns have come under the control of the Three Brotherhood Alliance, and the military council resists the attacks using heavy weaponry, air strikes, and cluster missiles.
