The KIA seized the strategically important Gang Dau Yang hill of the military council on the Myitkyina-Bhamo Road in Kachin State, Col. Naw Bu, the spokesperson of KIA/KIO told Than Lwin Times.
On October 31, at around 6 a.m., the joint forces of the Kachin Liberation Army (KIA), the Arakan Army (AA), and allied forces raided the strategic hill and captured it at 8 am.
Gang Dau Yang strategic hill is a camp where military council troops have been stationed for a decade, and soldiers died during the battle.
KIA has not released any information about the seizure of ammunition.
Besides, the military council attacked the nearby village of Jar Hta, including the strategic hill, using air strikes and artillery shells, and six civilian houses were burned to ashes.
According to the local residents, the military aircraft bombed the Alaw Bum hill near the KIO headquarters in Laiza three times around 2:30 p.m. .
The Kha Ya regime outpost fired heavy weapons near Laiza, where the KIA headquarters is located, and an explosion occurred at the AA camp near the Mung Lai Khet displaced camp, which is about two miles away from Laiza, said the Three Brotherhood Alliance.
Similarly, on October 30, the KIA Brigade 4 took control over the strategic base of Light Infantry Battalion 324 of the military regime in Monemaw-Namhia in Namtu Town of northern Shan State, according to local news agencies.
