Local residents reported fighting between regime troops and revolutionary forces near Chaunghnakhwa village in Mon State’s Kyaikmaraw Township for the second day in a row.
The fighting has taken place the whole day as the resistance fighters attacked the police outpost and checkpoint near the bridge in Chaunghnakhwa village since 10 November.
The fighting continues until yesterday, November 11, and thousands of local people are trapped in the fighting between the two sides.
According to a local resident, no one dares to leave their homes, and some do not even cook meal for fear that the junta troops will open fire if they see smoke.
As the fighting continues, local residents want to flee to safety but are trapped in the middle of the fighting.
During yesterday’s battle, two fighter jets carried out air strikes, and the artillery unit based in Mudon shelled continuously.
A house was reported to have been burned down as a result of an artillery shell in Chaungkhakhwa battle, and a local citizen was also injured by shrapnel.
Neither the revolutionary forces nor the military council have released any statements about the battle.
According to locals, the use of the Kyaikmaraw-Kyinseikkyi road has been prohibited due to the ongoing fighting in Chaunghnakhwa.
