Kawthaung, 10 December

Two junta members were killed in an ambush attack when they came to Phaw Thote village in Tanintharyi Region’s Kawthaung Township, the resistance forces from Kawthaung told Than Lwin Times.

Around 50 troops of a military column from the 584 Light Infantry Battalion were caught in a surprise attack near Phaw Thote village around 10 a.m. on December 8.

The attack sparked a 20-minute battle in which two soldiers, including a lance corporal, were killed and others were injured.

The allied resistance forces confiscated a firearm, and no injuries were reported.

According to local residents, regime troops have been inspecting passers-by near Phaw Thote village for nearly the entire day.

The junta column arrested more than 30 residents for questioning and released them in the evening, residents said.

On 24 November, a column of regime troops was ambushed in Maliwan village in Kawthaung, killing three soldiers.
