The regime troops invaded Kale Takon Daing village tract in Karen’s Kyainseikgyi Township, forcing thousands of residents to flee, according to local sources.
More than 3,000 residents from the villages of Pulain, Khale Takon Daing, Myohaung, Khale Ywar Kalay, Phayar Ngar Suu and Nan Thaing Tun have fled to safety due to the recent invasion of the military column.
Meanwhile, artillery 381, based in Abis village, Mudon Township, has been launching heavy weapons into Khale Takon Daing village on a daily basis, injuring locals.
Since June 26, the regime troops have moved from Taw Palaw and Taung Kalay villages in Kyaimaro Township, Mon State, towards Khale Takon Daing and Taung Nyo foothills in Khyin Pyi Gyi Township, and clashed with KNLA joint forces, said locals.
That military column may lead to the police station where the junta troops and members of Border Guard Force (BGF) are stationed in Khale Takon Daing.
When there was no fighting, junta shelling killed three civilians and destroyed five houses, reported the information team of KNU’s Dooplaya District.
As of May, there are 22,523 IDPs in KNU Brigade 6, and during the rainy season, the displaced people are facing difficulties because they need accommodation, food, medicine and basic items.
