Yangon, 3 September
The Mon State Federal Council organized an online event to mark the 76th Mon Revolution Day on 31 August.
Participants paid tribute in a minute’s silence to the fallen martyrs in Mon armed revolution of modern era, and fighters and people who died in Spring Revolution.
Commemoration messages from Mon armed groups, members of Mon State Federal Council, representatives of National Unity Consultive Council, ministers of National Unity Government and other resistance forces were read at the event.
Mon youth initiated a modern era armed struggle in 1948 after Myanmar regained its independence for self-determination, equality and self-ruling.
