Yebyu, 28 September
Regime forces raided a camp of the People’s Defense Force (PDF) near Wazumtaw village in Tanintharyi Region’s Yebyu Township on 26 September morning, sources close to the matter told Than Lwin Times.
A junta unit of more than 50 troops attacked Zin Yaw Ni PDF camp near Wazumtaw village in Yebyu around 10 a.m.
According to sources, after receiving a tip-off, the PDF members were hiding in one place to attack when the junta troops turned back and entered the PDF camp.
There was no confrontation since PDF comrades fled the camp in the massive raid by regime forces.
During the junta raid, 10 improvised firearms, a homemade rocket, a magazine, a walkie talkie, mines, food rations, medical supplies, and uniforms were lost.
Since September 25, junta column has stormed the villages of Wazumtaw, Ekani and Khamauk Chuang through Dawei Deep Sea Port, village by village.
According to local residents, more than 500 residents of Wazumtaw, Ekani, Khamauk Chaung, Ya Nge and Wat Chaung villages have fled their homes due to the military council’s invasion of Yebyu Township.
