Tanintharyi, 14 October
A child was killed and two others injured when artillery shells struck Thit Tabin and Lae Taungyar villages in Tanintharyi Township, locals and officials from resistance forces told Than Lwin Times.
The Tanintharyi’s Auk Kin village-based Light Infantry Battalion 557 and Kammalai village-based Light Infantry Battalion 558 launched 10 rounds of artillery shells into the villages around 11 a.m. on October 12.
The explosions killed a 10-year-old child and wounded another in Thit Tabin village while injuring a child in Taung Yar village.
The artillery shelling of regime forces reportedly prompted locals from Thit Tabin and Lae Taung villages to flee.
According to local research organizations, 29 local residents were killed in Tanintharyi’s Thayetchaung, Launglon, Yebyu, Palaw, Tanintharyi, Myeik, and Kawthaung.
