Thayetchaung, 2 November
Five regime forces were killed when they came to lay in ambush in Pan Pin Gyi village in Tanintharyi Region’s Thayetchaung Township, according to local resistance forces.
The allied resistance forces detonated three mines to attack the regime troops advancing from the Thayet Hna Khwa checkpoint towards Pan Pin Gyi village.
The resistance forces tried to collect the weapons of the five soldiers who died on the spot, but they had to retreat because reinforcements arrived.
After the attack, the junta army entered Thae Chaung Gyi, Sone Sin Phyar and Win Wa villages in Thare Chaung Township in the early morning of November 1.
As of 1:00 p.m. that day, there had been no fighting between the two sides, but the junta’s invasion caused some residents to flee.
On October 17, at least 10 soldiers were killed in an ambush attack by resistance forces between Ka Dwe and Win Wa villages in Thayetchaung Township.
