Kyawt Htu, 14 November
A military officer from Kyawt Htu Artillery Unit in Magway region was awarded 50,000,000 kyat as he has defected with weapon and ammunition to Yaw Revolution Army, an official from YRA told Than Lwin Times.
On 5 November, Warrant Officer Kyaw Soe Hlaing from Kyawt Htu Artillery joined Gangaw District Battalion (15, 16, 17)-YRA with weapons and ammunition.
Thakhin Zaw from Gangaw District Battalion (15,16,17) from YRA told Than Lwin Times that “He told me that he does not want to serve for the military. But he had no opportunity to contact revolution force.”
Warrant Officer Kyaw Soe Hlaing is the highest-ranking person among those who left the military, and there are some reports that many junta soldiers from Kyawt Htu artillery unit want to join civil disobedience movement, he said.
He also brought one MA-3, 3 magazines, 219 rounds of ammunition, bullet-proof jacket, and he has been sent to the liberated area.
Since the military coup, around 25 police and soldiers have joined civil obedience movement at YRA Hteelin, and they have been transported to the liberated areas and their expected destination.
