Ye, 25 November
The troops of junta army and the People’s Defense Forces (PDF) sustained injuries during the exchange of fire in Yan Myo Aung Ward in Mon State’s Ye Township, said locals.
The crossfire erupted between the two sides around noon on November 23 when regime troops tried to capture two PDF members.
Three junta troops, including a sergeant, were wounded in the exchange of fire, while a PDF comrade received a bullet wound in his arm.
It is reported that the two PDF soldiers were unable to take the motorcycle with them and fled the shooting of the junta army.
Following that incident, the military council was forced to conduct a thorough search in Yan Myo Aung Ward, as well as close the roads at the town’s entrances and exits.
Than Lwin Times is still investigating whether the two PDF comrades were arrested by the junta army.
After the shooting, on November 24, there were no more searches by military council in Ye, but fewer pedestrians, according to locals.
The military council has beefed up security in Ye after the report spread that the revolutionary group would take over Mon State’s Ye, where martial law had been declared.
