Yangon, July (31)
The regime’s electricity supply corporation only provides electricity to the industrial zones on a rotating system, making it difficult for the manufacturers to operate their production lines, the businessmen said.
Using fuels to generate energy raises expenses for businesses and has a negative impact on those enterprises over a period of time.
The authorities now provide power supply for industrial zones from 8 am to 5 pm with frequent outages.
The businessmen negotiated with the authorities in March and reached an agreement to supply power to industrial zones from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in order for factories to operate smoothly.
However, the junta Ministry of Electricity and Energy has warned that there may be temporary power outages in Yangon Region because of reduced power supply as a result of power line explosions and some accidents.
