Mawlamyine, December (27)
The junta troops detained 24 Rohingya at an apartment in Hlaing ward of Mawlamyine, Mon State, the sources told Than Lwin Times.
The soldiers and police force came to arrest them according to the report that the Rohingya were at five-story apartment owned by U Naing Tun around noon on December 25.
Among the arrested Rohingya, 13 are male and 11 are female, for a total of 24, and most of them are young people.
According to local people, the arrested Rohingya people are not local, and it is not yet known where they came from.
The junta troops and immigration officials are interrogating the 24 Rohingyas at the Daiwonkwin police station.
On December 5, the military council also arrested 78 Rohingya, including children, who were hiding in the boat near Kamarwat river in Mon State’s Mudon Township.
