The Pyu Saw Htee group, members of military council, killed five members of People’s Defense Force who provided security for the Monywa main strike column on the Monywa-Mandalay highway.
On the Monywa-Mandalay highway, the strike, headed by the Monywa main strike column, ended smoothly and securely.
“There have been some allegations on the internet that the shootings occurred during the strike.
That’s not the case. The Pyu Saw Htee group shot and killed five of our comrades who were providing security for us,” a protest leader told the Than Lwin Times.
Due to an informant, the Pyu Saw Htee group knew the exact location of the PDF guards after the demonstrators were dispersed, and executed them.
The Monywa main strike column came out in force and armed, with security provided by the local guerrillas and the Chaung-U Defense Force.
