The regime forces detained four women after a member of militia group was killed in Tanintharyi Region’s Launglon in the morning of yesterday, February 17, the locals told Than Lwin Times.
On February 16, at around 6:00 pm, unknown gunmen came to the house of U Aung San Oo, a member of the junta militia, who lives in Ward D in Launglon, and shot him dead.
After the death of U Aung San Oo, the junta forces raided Wards C and D in Launglon at around 9 am on February 17 and arrested four local women.
Those arrested were Ma Mi Nyein, Daw Ohn Shwe, Ma Than Than Htwe and Daw Than Aye, and the locals said that they were just ordinary housewives and not related to any resistance groups.
The four women were held in custody at Launglon police station and had not been released until yesterday evening.
In Launglon, the military regime is arresting young people for various reasons, causing some to flee their homes.
More than 1,000 locals were detained by the military council in Tanintharyi Region following the military takeover, and the majority of them were imprisoned under various sections.
