Hpapun, March (15)
Six junta soldiers were killed and one injured in the attacks by resistance forces in KNU’s Hpapun District, reported Brigade 5 on March 14.
On March 10, the 5th Brigade of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) attacked the junta camps in TarbuKyo area of Butho Township, Kuuseik and Myaynikone Hpapun District, killing three military personnel and damaging one motorcycle.
In addition, at 6:30 am on March 9, the KNLA’s 5th Brigade attacked the Maethuhtar camp of the KNU’s Dwelow Township, killing one, while around 8:00 am that day, regime troops based in Phargawlow fired heavy weapons into Thaygawhtu village in Sawmu Palaw region.
On March 8, between 8:30 and 10:30 in the morning, the regime troops who were squatting in the Narkunar area were attacked twice by the KNLA’s Brigade 5
At night that day, BGF forces fired heavy weapons into Powgar village of Kadaingtdi village, injuring two civilians, including a 16-year-old child.
On March 11, the regime troops stationed at Phargawlow camp in KNU Luthaw township fired two mortar shells into Tayipalaw village, and at 6:30 pm, the junta unit based in Hpapun fired about six artillery rounds into the villages and farm yards near the town.
In the KNU’s Hpapun District, there are frequent clashes between the KNLA’s 5th Brigade and the junta-affiliated Border Guard Force (BGF) with BGF forces firing heavy weapons into the villages, killing some civilians.
