Kantbalu, 12 April
Military conducted air strikes on the opening ceremony of public administration office at Pazigyee village of Kantbalu Township, Sagaing region, on 11 April, killing over civilians and many injured, according to the rescue workers to Than Lwin Times.
The fighter jet and Mi35 attack helicopter were used in the air strikes.
“A jet fighter flew from the west carried out attack. About three minutes later, a Mi35 helicopter fired the entire village for about 20 minutes. We are now doing rescue works. Some bodies were burnt with smokes,” said rescue worker Kyaw Wunna.
The airstrike occurred when local heads and people were gathering away from people defence forces. The victims were civilians who enjoyed the feast for opening ceremony of people administration office which was finished about one week ago.
Parents and their children were among over 100 victims in the airstrike, while more people are still missing.
Kyaw Wunna said that rescue works are being suspended due to information about possible further airstrike. Sources said the fighter jet was from Tada-U airport from Mandalay and the attack helicopter was from Monywa Township in northwestern command.
The resistance forces are now collecting information to the attack if it took place due to military informants or its investigation capacity

More than 700 civilians were killed in airstrikes, heavy weapon shelling and attacks of ground forces after the military coup in Myanmar.
