An armed group arrived and shot U Phoe Chit, a pro-junta militia leader in Thabyuchaung village of  Mon State’s Paung Township, and confiscated two guns from his home, the residents told Than Lwin Times.


When an armed group arrived at the home of militia leader U Phoe Chit on May 1 in the morning, he escaped after exchanging gunfire.
After that, the armed group confiscated two guns from U Phoe Chit’s house and left.


Than Lwin Times asked the Local Defense Forces about which organization was responsible for the assassination of the militia leader, but has yet to receive a reply.


 According to military lobbyists’ Telegram accounts, a 40 mm gun was seized from the armed group that shot at U Phoe Chit, and one armed man was injured.


U Soe Hlaing, the chief of the ten-household Zaritchaung village in Thaton Township, was shot and injured on April 30.
