Tanintharyi Region’s Revolutionary forces as well as the boycott committee, have called for a Silent Strike against the military dictators on April 14, Thingyan’s A-Kya Nei, in Dawei District.
The silent strike is in response to the military’s deception that the people are celebrating the Water Festivals and living in peaceful life, and that the military is using this phoney delight to slow down the revolution.
Therefore, the Dawei Strike Committee urges the people to stage the Silent Strike between 9 am and 2 pm on Thingyan’s A-Kya Nei without stepping outside.
In Dawei, the coup junta has built pavilions and is preparing to celebrate the Thingyan Festival.
The revolutionary forces have warned the people not to enjoy the regime’s Dawei Thingyan.
