More than 1,200 homes torched across the country in two weeks

According to Data for Myanmar, military councils and affiliates burned around 1,200 dwellings in two weeks across the country.

More than 1,200 homes were set on fire during the two-week period from April 1 to 14, bringing the total to more than 9,100 settlements during the coup.

“The military council is setting fire to people’s homes in order to intimidate them into not supporting the local People’s Defense Force.



According to a local in Sagaing Region, people in rural areas are very supportive of the People’s Defense Forces.

The battles between the military council and the PDFs take place daily in Sagaing Region, and nationwide protests continue.

According to Data for Myanmar, more than 5,600 dwellings were destroyed in Sagaing Region, with over 1,000 in Magway Region and Chin State.
