The pro-junta militia was attacked with landmines near Myeik airport in Tanintharyi region’s Myeik Township, with one dead and five others injured, the sources told Than Lwin Times.

A civilian vehicle carrying ten members of a militia group hit the landmines planted by the People’s Defense Forces on August 16.

One member of the militia was killed on the spot and five others were seriously wounded by the attack.

The military council took the injured to the hospital, the locals said.

The Myeik PDF and its alliance announced that the attack was carried out as Nan Htike Aung Mission.

After the mine attack, the regime troops conducted a search and inspection at the entrance checkpoint of Myeik Township and on some roads in the neighborhoods of the township.
