12 soldiers including dy-commanding officer killed in clash on Dawei-Htee Khee road

The Spring Guerrilla Force reported that 12 people, including the deputy commanding officer of the military regime, were killed, and some weapons and ammunition were seized during the clashes between the two sides on the Dawei-Htee Khee road in Tanintharyi Region’s Dawei.

A combined force of Kawthoolei Army and Spring Guerrilla Force led by Lieutenant Kaw Law clashed with Infantry Battalion 267, which advanced towards Wartaw village near Dawei-Htee Khee road at around 12 noon on September 6.

12 military personnel, including the deputy commanding officer, were killed in the two-hour clash, and four grenade launchers, 40 mm grenades, eight ammo boxes, one pistol, 60 mm mortar bomb, one claymore mine, and communication devices were also seized, the statement said.

 A joint team of Kawthoolei Army and Spring Fuerrilla Forces led by Lieutenant Kaw Law was able to retreat without any casualties in a two-hour clash.

Moreover, a clash broke out between the eastern Dawei People’s Defense Force and the junta army near Kyauk Thittar hill and Bawapin village on Dawei- Htee Khee road on September 6, reportedly killing five military personnel, Dawei PDF confirmed to Than Lwin Times.

There has been ongoing fighting between PDFs and regime forces that marched in full strength on Dawei-Htee Khee road since late August.
