The Pa-O National Organization (PNO) militia failed to take responsibility after they arrested and killed five members of the Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO/PNLA), the PNLA officials told Than Lwin Times.
Since September 14 is Pa-o’s National Martyrdom Day, seven troops went home; fortunately, two of them were present at a conference at the headquarters and escaped being killed.
Pao National Liberation Organization (PNLO) members – Khun Tun Oo, Khun Shein, Khun Than Pe, Khun Kyesin, and Khun Ye Naung were killed in Wapyone village, Pin Laung City, Shan State and Khun Tun Oo was a deputy platoon commander.
PNLA spokesperson Khun Tun Tin said that the militia killed them without personal issues.
The PNO/PNA group supported the military council in the fighting in the Pao region and the Shan-Kayah border that took place in the past few days.
On September 12, the PNO militia helped the military council in the battle against the United Southern Shan Federal Union and arrested a local named U Sa Kalay.
The PNLO strongly condemned the arrest and killing of PNLA members for no reason, and said in a statement that the issue would be resolved peacefully.
