Two members of the People’s Defense Forces were killed in an attack on the 407th Infantry Battalion of the Military Council in Yebyu Township of Tanintharyi Region’s Dawei District, according to Dawei PDF.
The Dawei PDF and allied forces attacked Infantry Battalion 407 on the Yangon-Dawei Highway and a military checkpoint in Padaukone village in Yebyu on September 19.
Comrade Nine Nine from Dawei PDF and comrade Wa Toke from the allied forces lost their lives in the battle.
An official from the Dawei District PDF said that the attack destroyed the regime checkpoint and that at least three members of the military council might have been killed.
In a statement, the Dawei District PDF expressed its condolences to the families of the two fallen comrades while also pledging that the remaining comrades will continue to complete their unfinished tasks.
After the military coup, military convoys and junta troops were frequently attacked in Yebyu Township, and the military situation intensified between the two sides.
