The family members of the battalions in Mon State were completely banned from going outside the military compound, and the officers threatened not to take responsibility for the safety of military families if they went out, the regime family members told Than Lwin Times.

Since the military takeover, soldiers and their families have been banned from leaving the housing, and if they leave the compound for important matters, they are instructed to go with the security forces, the source said.

Therefore, it is obvious that the military council is worried about their troops and family members joining the Civil Disobedient Movement (CDM), the CDM soldiers said.

In addition, the family members of the army themselves have spoken against the military council because of serving on the front lines for a long time, and the superior officers forced their subordinates to arrest, kill, and burn the houses of innocent civilians.

A source said that due to these conditions, most of the family members want to flee from the army, but they continue to endure because of their husbands.

The National Unity Government (NUG) announced in April this year that the total number of police and soldiers who have joined the CDM since the military coup has reached more than 10,000.
